Terms for using Optenic.
These terms govern use of the Optenic website, platform, integrations, and related services.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, starting a trial, purchasing a subscription, or using Optenic, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What Optenic provides
Optenic is career-search and career-decision-support software. The service can help you organize opportunities, evaluate job fit, prepare application materials, manage job-search activity, prepare for interviews, and use other career tools made available in the product.
Optenic is not an employer, staffing agency, recruiting agency, legal adviser, financial adviser, or guarantor of any hiring outcome.
3. Your account and responsibilities
You are responsible for information submitted through your account, for keeping your authentication credentials secure, and for reviewing information and actions presented by Optenic before relying on them.
You must provide information you are authorized to use and may not use Optenic to impersonate another person, interfere with the service, violate another party's rights, bypass security controls, or engage in unlawful activity.
4. Career decisions and generated content
Optenic provides analysis, generated materials, recommendations, and automation to assist your career search. Outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate and should be reviewed before use.
You remain responsible for deciding which roles to pursue, what information to submit to employers, whether to authorize an action, and how to respond to career opportunities. Employers and other third parties control their own screening, interview, application, and hiring decisions.
Optenic does not guarantee interviews, offers, compensation, employment, or any particular career outcome.
5. Free trial and subscriptions
Optenic currently offers a seven-day free trial for eligible new subscriptions. A payment method is collected through Stripe Checkout when the trial begins. Unless the subscription is canceled before the end of the trial, the selected paid plan begins when the trial ends.
Current individual plans include monthly billing and a prepaid three-month billing option. Prices, plan availability, taxes, and promotional terms presented at checkout form part of your purchase terms.
Existing subscribers can use the billing-management experience provided through Optenic and Stripe for supported payment-method, invoice, and cancellation actions. Cancellation stops future renewal according to the applicable subscription terms and does not retroactively undo charges already incurred except where required by law.
6. Third-party services and integrations
Optenic may interoperate with third-party services such as Google, Stripe, job boards, applicant-tracking systems, and other providers. Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms and policies.
Optional integrations require your authorization. You may stop using an integration through the controls Optenic makes available, subject to the technical and policy behavior of the third-party provider.
7. Gmail integration
If you choose to connect Gmail, Optenic requests read-only Gmail access for supported job-alert features. Details about how Google user data is accessed, used, stored, shared, retained, and deleted are provided in the Optenic Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual property
Optenic and its software, branding, interfaces, and service content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Optenic intellectual property to you.
You retain ownership of information and materials you submit to Optenic, subject to the permissions reasonably necessary for Optenic and its service providers to operate the features you request.
9. Service availability and changes
Optenic may update, improve, add, remove, suspend, or change features over time. We work to provide a reliable service, but uninterrupted or error-free availability is not guaranteed.
10. Suspension or termination
Optenic may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security threats, fraud, legal requirements, or material violations of these Terms. You may stop using Optenic at any time, subject to any active subscription obligations.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Optenic is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Optenic disclaims warranties that cannot reasonably be inferred from the service or that are not expressly provided by applicable law.
Information about jobs, employers, compensation, and other third-party matters may originate from external sources and can change without notice.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Optenic will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
13. Changes to these terms
Optenic may update these Terms as the service or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date when appropriate. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.
14. Questions and support
Signed-in customers can use the Support area in Optenic for account, billing, subscription, technical, and other support requests.
